Brain metastases (BMs) are malignancies that primarily originate from lung cancer, breast cancer, and melanoma and later metastasize to the brain. The BM is the most common secondary tumor in the central nervous system with a poor prognosis. However, little is known about its driver mutation and the common mutants across different BMs. Therefore, it’s necessary to gain a global view of brain metastasis heterogeneity and potential driver genes.
Here we present a study ‘Targeted exome sequencing for the identification of common mutational signatures and potential driver mutations for brain metastases and prognosis summary’ conducted by Zhang D, Wang X, Ma S, et al.
