Description:
Novogene is a global leader in next-generation sequencing (NGS) with labs in China, Japan, Singapore, US and UK. We work with thousands of research and clinical customers across Europe on a huge range of scientific projects.

We now have a requirement for a Events Specialist to join our European marketing team. The role will report to the European Marketing Director.

Job description:

As Novogene continues to grow we have a new requirement for an Events Specialist to join our marketing team. As an Events Specialist you will be responsible for everything event related at Novogene Europe. You will be planning Novogene’s attendance at conferences and events across Europe, managing the events budget and ensuring a good Return on Investment. You’ll be part of the small but busy European marketing team and will ensure events align with the wider marketing plans and value proposition.

The role will require excellent teamwork as you’ll be collaborating across the company, working closely with the sales, product and commercial teams on the successful delivery of our busy events calendar. You will also be responsible for organising Novogene-run events such as workshops, lunch and learns and outreach events to engage the next generation of scientists.

This is a new role and one you can really make your own. We have big growth plans for 2022 and events are a key component of our marketing mix. We are looking for an ambitious individual who can come and take ownership of planning and organising of our events. Whilst a background in events management would be ideal the key to this role will be excellent project management and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and manage all Novogene Europe events, including trade show and conference participation, workshops, local events, forums, sales roadshows, etc.
  • Own the events calendar and ensure this is aligned with the wider marketing calendar.
  • Manage all the events logistics to ensure we have the best possible presence at events.
  • Work with the wider marketing team to ensure the production of events materials such as banners, brochures, etc and work with Novogene logistics team to organise shipping and storage.
  • Organise and run calls with the sales (and other teams) to ensure everyone is properly briefed and prepared for events. Work with marketing team to set events objectives and lead requirements.
  • Manage the events budget and work with finance to ensure timely payments.
  • Work with sales and the marketing team to ensure leads are processed efficiently, tracked and distributed.
  • Provide post-event analysis of events and ROI to help evaluate future event participation.

About you:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or combination of education and related experience.
  • 3+ years events or similar project-based experience.
  • Team player with the ability to be self-directed and with strong initiative to drive change.
  • Comfortable working in a multi-national organisation with geographically disparate team.
  • Fluent English language skills.

Preferred Experience:

He/She will ensure the successful completion of sequencing projects, confirm final delivery of data, and work with the sales and project management teams to resolve any technical or after-sales issues.

The Molecular Biologist Scientist is responsible for performing various laboratory tasks including but not limited to: sample preparation procedures, PCR and DNA sequencing, and sample quality control. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in molecular biology, 2+ years’ experience in a laboratory setting, and strong working knowledge of NGS.
