WGBS Case Study on Dnmt3b Catalytic Activity

Introduction:

DNA methylation is an epigenetic modification that regulates gene transcription in mammalian cells, particularlywhen present in gene promoters. It is often associated with H3K9me3 and H3K27me3 histone modifications andcontributes to gene repression. DNA methylation is involved in various physiological processes, including develop-ment, X chromosome inactivation, genomic imprinting, differentiation and hematopoiesis and its deregulation inhumans contributes to the pathogenesis of immune disorders, hematologic malignancies and cancer .

Here, we present the study ‘Dnmt3b catalytic activity is critical for its tumor suppressor function in lymphomagenesisand is associated with c-Met oncogenic signaling’ conducted by Katarina Lopusna, Pawel Nowialis, Jana Opavska, etal.
