NovoMagic Plus: Your Next-Generation Cloud Reanalysis Platform

Introduction

NovoMagic Plus is Novogene’s next-generation, cloud-based platform for interactive, customisable sequencing data analysis. It is available free of charge for all standard mRNA-seq projects with a reference genome that have undergone Novogene bioinformatics analysis.

With NovoMagic Plus, you can:

  • Explore your data through an upgraded, more intuitive interface.
  • Re-analyse results by regrouping samples, adjusting parameters (e.g., p-value thresholds), and editing figures such as Venn diagrams.
  • Dive deeper with over a dozen specialised analysis modules for expression profiling, DGE, pathway enrichment, and more.

Meet Novi – Your AI Plotting Assistant

NovoMagic Plus introduces Novi, an AI-powered assistant that helps you visualise and interpret your data with smart tools like BioPlot and Img2Code. Novi can generate heatmaps, volcano plots, and other visualisations on command – even from compatible datasets you upload — helping you communicate your results faster and more clearly.

Why NovoMagic Plus?

  • Modernised interface for smoother navigation and analysis.
  • Flexible customisation to fit your research needs.
  • AI-powered plotting for rapid, high-quality visuals.
  • Continuous development with new features planned for release.

Whether you’re a seasoned bioinformatician or a researcher new to data analysis, NovoMagic Plus makes sequencing data exploration faster, smarter, and more accessible than ever.

NovoMagic & Novi – Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is NovoMagic only available for data generated by Novogene?

A: NovoMagic is built around analysis results generated by Novogene’s pipelines, so project reanalysis is only possible if the data has been processed by our team — even if the raw sequencing data originally came from another provider. In such cases, we can reanalyze the external data first to make it compatible with NovoMagic.

Q: Can I use Novi without sequencing data from Novogene?

A: Yes. Novi is accessible to any client with a CSS account, regardless of where the sequencing was performed. Once logged in, you can enter NovoMagic and use tools like Novi without restriction.

Q: Is there a cost for NovoMagic or Novi?

A: NovoMagic is a free aftersales tool for clients who have purchased mRNA sequencing with reference genome-based bioinformatics. Novi is also free for all CSS account holders.

Q: Can I upload my own data to NovoMagic?

A: You can upload external results such as count tables (.xls) for some modules, but full project reanalysis requires the data to be processed by Novogene.

Q: How long is my data available in NovoMagic?

A: NovoMagic stores analysis results for one year after data delivery.

Q: Can I reanalyse past Novogene projects on NovoMagic?

A: Projects from June 20, 2022, onward may be eligible for reanalysis. Projects before this date require a new analysis run (fees may apply).

Q: Does NovoMagic support small RNA-seq, single-cell RNA-seq, or amplicon data?

A: Currently, small RNA-seq and single-cell RNA-seq are not supported. Amplicon-based metagenomics will be available soon.

Q: Can I combine results from different projects?

A: Not directly in NovoMagic, but our bioinformatics team can manually assess requests.

Q: What can Novi do?

A: Novi helps with data visualisation, generating plots, and providing quick analysis guidance based on your results in NovoMagic. Novi does not perform full project reanalysis.

Q: Is my data safe when using Novi?

A: Yes. Novi does not use your data for training, does not share it publicly, and is designed to be IP-friendly.

Q: Can Novi be used for non-RNA-seq projects?

A: Yes. Novi is accessible to all CSS users and can assist with supported data types, though certain analyses may require mRNA-seq results.

Q: How can I change cutoffs in Venn diagram and other reanalysis modules?

A: Use the analysis settings panel in each module to adjust p-values, log2 fold changes, and other parameters, then rerun the analysis.

Q: Can I download the data behind plots?

A: Yes, most modules allow you to export the results and underlying data tables.
