This statement provides some background to our organisation and our supply chains. It also sets out the steps that we have taken during the financial year ended 31st December 2020 to ensure that slavery and human trafficking are not taking place, either in our organisation or within our supply chains.

Novogene has strong scientific expertise and experience with 32 NGS-related patents, as well as over 580 research papers with total impact factor at more than 4090, including publications in first tiers journals such as Cell, Nature and Science.
A privately-owned institution headquartered in Beijing with branches in Hong Kong China, US, UK, Singapore, Netherlands and Japan, Novogene was founded in 2011 and has been growing rapidly over the past few years. Novogene has genomic sequencing labs in the US (at The University of California at Davis campus), China, Singapore, and the UK (Cambridge).

We operate a number of policies and procedures which reflect our commitment to acting properly in all of our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls. They apply to all our employees and to anyone engaged on a temporary basis.

Our policies are monitored by a relevant policy owner within our organisation and reviewed at least every two years. We will continue to review our policies to ensure that they are effective and appropriate.
In particular, our procurement team continues to review and strengthen our centralised procurement processes and policy, taking into account a range of risks, including slavery and human trafficking.

We have zero tolerance to slavery and human trafficking. To ensure all those in our supply chain and contractors comply with our values we have in place a supply chain compliance programme. This consists of: vetting the appropriate policies of all suppliers including the steps they have in place to minimise the risk of slavery and human trafficking in their business.
Due diligence and monitoring is ongoing and under review to improve supplier vetting and to minimise further a range of risks, including slavery and human trafficking. We have a dedicated compliance team led by our procurement team, assisted by our legal team.
Our procurement team is also looking to foster long-term relationships with suppliers, through which policies aimed at minimising a range of risks (including the risk of slavery and human trafficking) can be advanced.
To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business, we provide training to all our employees, contractors or visitors on all relevant matters. Here are some examples of the information and training we provide:
